Dia de los Muerto or Day or The Dead is a Mexican holiday where people pray for and remember friends and loved ones who have died.....but it's no sombre affair!
It falls the day after Halloween and as our next craft night is the day before that we had to bring you a spooky, skull filled evening of making!
As ever we have some fabulous & free workshops lined up.....
First up: Our fave eco-chic designers, Karen and Jo from Use It Up Wear It Out are running a Day Of The Dead Mask workshop....just like this rather gorgeous mask above! WOW!!!! All the materials are provided.....amazing!
Or: If you're more of a 'skull' than a mask kind of person then you'll want to join Artyard Handmade in their stitch workshop where you can sew your own snazzy skull brooch. Arty Yard is a studio that runs crafts workshops near Richmond...find out more about them at the end of the blog!*
For one month only, we're converting our usual Collage Corner into a Creepy Corner......expect...ghoulish, blood curdling craftyness.
Never been to The Make Escape before?
Ok, so here's how it works...it's free to drop in from 7.30-10.30 and you can take part in which ever craft sessions you like, OR bring along your own project to work on. We have a stocked bar, brilliant DJs, comfy seats and lots of nice people to make friends with. It's all free, including the materials.....unless you want to bring in your own?!
It's very chilled, very creative and super dooper fun. All sessions are drop in BUT this month we have limited spaces on the Day Of The Dead mask workshop by Use It Up Wear It Out.....so for that one you must get there early!
*More about Artyard as promised!

mache masterclass making contemporary deer heads.
The studio offers the
more traditional crafts as well as a vibrant twist on contemporary,
quirky designs and ideas.
This
Autumn sees the return of their popular Photography Masterclass and a
host of Christmas workshops to get you in the festive spirit, complete
with mulled wine and mince pies! Come inside our studio for an evening
of making and escapism.
